1st Class, Redefined

After a long hiatus, I am back. This post’s inspiration came when doing research for a separate post, which will be uploaded in due time.
I found a picture of actress Rachel Weisz reclining in a 1st class suite on an airplane. Curious, I went to look and see what aircraft or airline it was; and this is the result. British Airways recently rolled out a new first class design on its long-haul Boeing 777s, which has redefined luxury air travel. The first thing that one might notice is a new seat design, and the new lighting scheme. The lighting scheme is designed to recreate the subtlety of natural light, so that you don’t get the “canned” light feel. There is also mood lighting along the floor to match the lighting scheme. The seats are 60% wider, and can convert into a bed when it is time to rest. Along with the new layout is an electronic window-shade  Spanning 2 windows, the window-shade illuminates in different flavors of blue, offering a calming, cool effect. British Airways also provides pajamas, and all of the amenities that would be expected for a VIP. In addition to all of the amenities, the updated media system is top of the line. With multiple charging ports for almost every conceivable device, and hundreds of movies and albums are the available from the inflight entertainment system. The space, when not configured as a bed, can host a desk for business, or a table for eating. In this configuration, 2 can comfortably dine on the finest foods that can be found on an aircraft. More in depth reviews from passengers who have flown can be found on the internet, since it isn’t likely I will ever get to fly in this kind of luxury… But I can dream, right? Pictures follow, starting with the one that started it all.
